    A portable mixing studio

    I had never heard of this recorder when i was looking for a portable audio recorder for performers and speakers with mics that was better than "over the air. I originally purchased a tascam, and it was good, albeit a little pricey for what you get. Then I saw an ad for this Zoom and was able to test it out at a local music store. MUCH more versatile, expandable and capable than the tascam, and that makes it a greater value to me.

    Very flexible field recorder

    I’ve owned the H6 black for about a year. I also own the xlr snap on head and the mid side microphone. The included cardiod mics are quite good. They are more neutral than other field recorders I’ve owned. You can record 6 channels live which is really useful to me. The H6 is like a Swiss Army knife, it’s very flexible and can serve as a 6 channel audio interface. The black finish appears to be painted vs the old rubberized finish which can get sticky.
